Lunar Startups is seeking a highly motivated and self-starting Marketing Fellow to drive the visibility and storytelling of Lunar and its participants. The Marketing Fellow will play a critical role on the team in helping market and communicate impact of the program and the growth of participating companies by developing and implementing marketing and advertising campaigns; maintaining promotional materials including websites; planning meetings and events to showcase the startups; maintaining databases and preparing data driven reports that will inform new ideas and innovations. Lunar Startups is looking for a candidate that exemplifies the entrepreneurial spirit, has their finger on the pulse of emerging innovative ideas and storytelling and who is passionate about helping grow wealth and opportunity in our community. Ideal candidates demonstrate creativity, team work, and the ability to dig into details to accomplish goals while rooted in an authentic voice that represents the awesome diversity of the participants at Lunar Startups. • Creates and implements marketing and advertising campaigns by assembling and analyzing program data and industry trends. • Prepares marketing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data. • Develops and manages promotional materials including websites, brochures, social media accounts, etc. • Works with Community Manager to capture and report sales data, market trends, forecasts, account analyses, new product information. • Works with Lunar Startups Director to plan publicly facing meetings and events by identifying, assembling, and coordinating requirements; establishing contacts; developing schedules and assignments; coordinating mailing lists. • Works with Lunar Startups Director to develop marketing content directly related to the Cohort participants, thereby increasing the public visibility of the startups. • Accomplishes organizational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Required Knowledge:
• Graduate degree or currently enrolled in a graduate program or have 3-5 years of related work experience • Must be able to work 40 hours week during standard business hours with occasional event events for six-months. • Previous work or experience supporting startups. • Experience or willingness to learn Adobe design products. • Competency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database software. • Ability to write, meet deadlines, and work independently. • Excellent organizational and communication skills. • Direct marketing, market segmentation and marketing research. • Proven attention to detail through prior work or life experience. • Comfortable with a variety of responsibilities – we're lean so we all have to roll up our sleeves! • Comfortable with a minimal amount of direction but high expectations. • Demonstrated interest in entrepreneurship. • Ability to manage time and task load independently. • Ability to learn new skills in a fast-paced environment. • Demonstrated dedication to diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace.
