Instructor of Advertising Department of Journalism and Mass Communication - South Dakota State University
Main Duties:
The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at South Dakota State University invites applications for a full-time, nine-month Instructor of Advertising. SDSU is especially interested in candidates who can contribute to and/or coordinate course offerings that address the experiences of underrepresented minorities in organizations. Women, minorities, veterans, and people with disabilities are especially encouraged to apply. RESPONSIBILITIES: We seek candidates to teach courses in Advertising. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Earned Doctorate in Advertising or a closely related field and five years of relevant professional advertising experience or a Master’s degree in Advertising or a closely related field and 10 years of relevant professional advertising experience; Demonstrated ability to teach Advertising courses, including Digital Media Strategies, Analytics and Data Analysis within communication disciplines; Demonstrated effective written communication skills; and Demonstrated effective oral communication interpersonal relations skills. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to candidates who have international advertising experience. Applicants must submit a portfolio of their work.
