Main Duties:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1) Masters degree in Journalism or closely-related discipline 2) Minimum three years professional experience in multi-platform, digital journalism; 3) Successful teaching experience at the university level, and 4) Demonstrable commitment to working with faculty, staff, and students on a multicultural/multiethnic urban campus with a substantial population of first-generation students. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 1) Successful university teaching experience, including supervision of university-based student-driven online, broadcast and print journalism platforms; 2) Record of research, scholarly and/or creative activity; 3) An earned Ph.D. in journalism or related disciplines from an accredited institution; 4) Demonstrated experience and/or training in visual, audio and print news production, including graphic design and animation; 5) Demonstrated experience and/or training with Adobe CC, Adobe Clips, ENPS, Inception, as well as related or similar software, and; 6) Ability to communicate in multiple languages.
Required Knowledge:
DUTIES: Teaching, research, scholarship and/or creative activity, and service to the University, profession and to the community. Responsibilities include: advising students, participation in campus and system-wide committees, maintaining office hours, working collaboratively and productively with colleagues, and participation in traditional academic functions. The candidate must be committed to the academic success of all of our students and will work effectively, respectfully, and collaboratively in diverse, multicultural inclusive settings SALARY: Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
