Music Producer (aka Music Librarian) North Carolina Public Radio WUNC-FM
Main Duties:
North Carolina Public Radio-WUNC, the public radio station licensed to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, is hiring a Music Producer/Librarian to work on the station’s new music discover HD2 and online stream. The Music Producer/Librarian will take an editorial lead on the creation and maintenance of the sound of WUNC Music and make independent decisions that work within the broader goals of WUNC. The Music Producer will acquire new and interesting music, enter it into a database and tag it with metadata needed for creative programming and presentation. This will include work with complex library, database management, music scheduling and radio automation software. We need a self-starter, creative thinker who will use his/her passion for music to help us build and maintain a cutting edge library. The Music Producer will work with record labels, artists and distributors to acquire material. S/he will also produce audio and digital content to be used online and on-air that could include promos, continuity breaks, artist profiles and podcasts.

WUNC is headquartered in North Carolina’s Triangle area (Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill).  It’s often rated among the top areas to live in the country.  The ocean and mountains are each just a few hours away.  North Carolina Public Radio serves nearly 400,000 listeners weekly and was ranked Number 1 in the Raleigh Metro Market in January 2015.  Salary and benefits are competitive.
