Main Duties:
The Donald W. Reynolds School of Journalism is looking for a visionary colleague to hold a new endowed professorship that will establish entrepreneurial thinking as a defining quality of a Reynolds School education.
Required Knowledge:
The Reynolds Chair in Media Entrepreneurship will develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in media innovation and entrepreneurship, as well as courses in other areas of expertise. The Chair will build partnerships with other academic units at UNR and beyond, and will engage with the professional community to develop solutions for the business challenges facing media firms.
Required Experience:
This is a non-tenure-track, renewable academic-year position that includes a dedicated account to support research, travel, events and related programs. We welcome diverse professional and academic backgrounds that include significant experience with entrepreneurial ventures and creative disruption. University teaching experience is a plus.
Special Requirement:
Nestled at the base of the Sierra Nevada, Reno is one of the country’s true outdoor meccas. Within a one-hour drive are 15 world-class ski and snowboard retreats, Lake Tahoe, hundreds of mountain biking and hiking trails, and the Truckee River, which runs through downtown Reno and offers one of the country’s top outdoor whitewater kayak parks. Reno’s population enjoys an array of cultural activities, including museums, theatre companies, a symphony, ballet and opera.
