Main Duties:
The Associated Press seeks a reporter for an 18-week temporary position covering spot news and enterprise in Boston. After orientation to AP operations, this reporter would work from the main Boston bureau, developing original stories for state and national audiences. We are seeking a journalist who is familiar with the people and the news of the region, who is a self-starter who can work quickly and accurately.

Candidates should have a track record of excellence as a reporter and writer with strong news judgment and a commitment to aggressively pursuing spot news and developing hard-edge enterprise. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Massachusetts and its people, culture and newsmakers. The candidate will have an ability to manage a beat and develop sources quickly, break stories and produce spot and enterprise. Multimedia skills are a plus. Advanced-level professional competency in written and spoken English language is required. Authorization to work in the U.S. will be mandatory. Duration: 18 weeks starting in January.
