Hudetz joins Native Peoples Magazine as editor

PHOENIX, Ariz. -- Native Peoples Magazine welcomed Mary Hudetz, a member of the Crow Tribe, as the publication's new editor earlier this month.

Hudetz joined Native Peoples Nov. 11. She will primarily be responsible for editorial direction, coordination and content of the magazine. 

Hudetz most recently was an editor on the The Associated Press' West Regional Desk in Phoenix, where she filed national breaking news and daily stories covering a broad range of topics and issues. While at AP, Hudetz also worked with a team of reporters to develop stories focused specifically on Native American issues and communities. 

A graduate of Fordham University in New York and the Freedom Forum's American Indian Journalism Institute at the University of South Dakota, Hudetz is originally from Crow Agency, Montana. She is the current board president of the Native American Journalists Association.
