The Native American Journalists Association is now accepting entries for the 2016 NAJA National Native Media Awards competition, which recognizes excellence in the reporting, presentation and coverage of stories in Indian Country.

NAJA will accept submissions of members' and non-members work produced Jan. 1 – Dec. 31, 2015. Entries may only be submitted via link – no hard copies will be accepted. The cost is $25 per entry for professional and association NAJA members, $15 per entry for students and $50 per entry for non-members. The deadline to submit entries and payment for all categories is June 10.

Categories are divided by membership type: professional, associate or student.

Members and non-members should ensure entry in the correct category by completing the corresponding form, according to individual membership type. Non-members may enter their work in the Associate Category. NAJA membership will be verified prior to judging.

Winners will be notified prior to the 2016 Excellence in Journalism conference in New Orleans Sept. 18-21. The NAJA Media Awards Banquet will be Sept. 20.

All entries and fees must be received by NAJA on or before June 10 or work will not be considered.
