NAJA 'Rock Your Mocs' Mixer set for Nov. 14 in Norman, Okla.

November 14th, 2014 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM

The Native American Journalists Association will host a ‘Rock Your Mocs’ Mixer Friday, Nov. 14 from 5:30-7:30 p.m., at Blu Fine Wine & Food, located at 201 S. Crawford Ave., in Norman, Okla. Mingle with NAJA’s members and current board of directors over appetizers and happy hour drink specials.

The event will feature special guest Seth Prince (Choctaw/Cherokee), Student Media digital and design advisor at the University of Oklahoma and former sports editor for The Oregonian. Student members of the OU Daily staff will also be in attendance.

In recognition of “Rock Your Mocs Day” and Native American Heritage Month during November, attendees are encouraged to sport their moccasins during the mixer. Slip them on and pick your favorites. Votes for the best mocs will be $5 each and prizes will be awarded to the owner of the winning pair. All proceeds from the fundraiser will support NAJA’s mission of serving and empowering Native journalists.

Please RSVP for the event here.

The event is open to all NAJA members and other journalism organizations. All are welcome and encouraged to attend.
