New America CA invests in California-based fellows who are working on the most innovative approaches to solving public problems. Whether leading cutting-edge organizations, developing technology to be applied in new ways, championing fresh ideas, or pioneering methods of using media to engage the public, we are looking for compelling stories that inspire new and broader audiences to get involved.

ProPublica is still accepting partners for its Documenting Hate project to track and report on hate crimes and bias incidents. With more than 120 partner newsrooms around the country, we’re looking for reporters who want tips on hate incidents and access to a network working on this beat.

From September to June, JSK Fellows spend their time on individual and collaborative projects and have the option to sit in on classes, while also participating in special workshops and weekly events.

The Institute for Journalism & Natural Resources is accepting applications for the Lower Colorado River Institute, to be held in Arizona, California, Nevada and Mexico in February 2018. Deadline to apply is Dec. 1.
