NAJA Charter & Bylaws

Section 4    STUDENT – Native Americans who are students at educational institutes shall be eligible as members and eligible to vote and hold office.

a.    Student members should be able to provide proof of tribal affiliation, if requested by the Board of Directors.

b.    Proof of current registration must be provided at the time of request for student membership.

Section 5    HIGH SCHOOL – Native American high school students.  A non-voting membership.

Section 6    ASSOCIATE – A non-Native individual who is a journalist, instructor, or supporter of NAJA.  A non-voting membership.

Section 7    SUSTAINING – A principal supporter of NAJA.  Sustaining members may not vote or hold office.

Section 8    The Board of Directors or its committee shall decide by simple majority vote, providing a quorum is present, whether it will accept publications, organizations or individuals for membership to NAJA.

Section 9    Membership renewal is based on the annual payment of dues.  Membership will be reviewed by the Board if challenged by any member of NAJA.

ARTICLE IV – Membership Dues

Section 1    Membership dues shall will be published by the Board of Directors at a meeting in which a quorum is present.
