The 2010 NAJA convention will take place at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in St. Paul, Minnesota from Wednesday, July 21st-Saturday, July 24th, 2010.

I humbly accept the responsibility to keep the Native American Journalists Association on the path set in its mission statement.

We have commemorated a quarter century of existence during the latest successful convention in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

2010 Project Phoenix Application

Application Deadline (received by): May 1st 2010

You must be a NAJA member to apply. Please visit our Membership page to register for a new membership or to renew an expired membership.
   
Required materials for application to Project Phoenix:  

  • A Completed Application Form 
  • Unofficial Transcript(s).  
  • Letter of Recommendation from adult reference (teacher, advisor, coach, etc.).  
  • Work sample of writing, photography, or video (Please use a CD, DVD or USB memory stick). 
  • 500 word essay written in third person as a news story. (Typed, double spaced) Answer each of these questions: Why are you interested in the field of Journalism? Why are you interested in Project Phoenix? What do you think of mainstream media and its coverage of Native Americans?
