New and Aspiring News Entrepreneurs, St. Paul is Where You Need to Be!
Check out the exciting new program for news entrepreneurs of color hosted at this year's NAJA Conference:
New U: News Entrepreneurs Working through UNITY (New U)
The Ford Foundation and UNITY: Journalists of Color are co-sponsoring a training project for journalists who want to be entrepreneurs. Competitively selected participants will be paired with a mentor and brought to their member UNITY Alliance partner convention this summer for a 1.5 day boot-camp. NAJA is the second project in the series and will take place July 21 and 22 in St. Paul. The four participants selected will have their travel and three nights' accommodations covered by UNITY.
The application deadline for the NAJA project is midnight, June 25.

Fellow Journalists:
An open message to personally invite you to the 2010 Native Nations Media Conference – a convention partnership between Native American Public Communications and the Native American Journalists Association held in St. Paul, Minnesota July 21-24, 2010.
We are encouraged that Native American Public Telecommunications will co-sponsor this year’s conference with NAJA. The partnership makes it economically possible to offer professional workshops, panels and technical training geared towards fulfilling our dual mission statements.
The theme, “Words + Images x Technology = Red Power,” should entice your media appetite to want to be able to attend the conference to get the full flavor of what this year’s conference has in store.
I am also personally and professionally pleased with the Crowne Plaza St. Paul Riverfront in making it possible to select it as the host site for the 2010 Native Nations Media Conference. I am confident conference participants will also be pleased with the site.
The conference registration rates have now been posted, with considerable graduated savings for early birds.
I hope and pray Creator makes is possible for you to make a clear path to St. Paul, Minnesota July 21-24 for the 2010 Native Nations Media Conference.
Ronnie Washines, President
Native American Journalists Association
