President's Message
Gu waa dzi, Greetings everyone,
As we venture into 2013, NAJA is
dedicated to our mission to empower our Native journalists, enrich
journalism and promote Native cultures. Our ongoing efforts to inform the public on cultural issues has become important as well. From stories on Vern Traversie to inappropriate headlines when referring to Native names or events, NAJA is here to make sure non-Natives get the story right.
As Native American journalists, we are dedicated to our work as well keeping our own tribal stories alive and educating others about our people. We gain great insight from each other, so please be sure to let us know of any issues that need to be addressed.
